ST. Augustine Social Service Society (SASSS) is a registered social organization Under Madhya Pradesh society’s  Act 1973, Having FCRA,80g certificates. It is the official social action body of the Augustinian sisters in North India Started  in 1977. It’s office is situated in Sendhwa. SASSS is mandated to facilitate welfare activities such running hospitals, boarding schools and community development programs with the support of donor agencies either from India or abroad, to raise resources. It also collaborates, associates and builds strong mutually beneficial network with like minded Nongovernmental organizations and government Agencies for the betterment of the society at large. The participatory functioning of the SASSS is guided by it’s vision, mission based on Gospel values focused on to bring the integrity of  Human beings.

Thrust Area

The main focus of  SASSS is to improve the quality of life of marginalized people and vulnerable sections of our society in the remote areas  of Barwani district in Madhya Pradesh

covering only tribal population villages. The focus groups are women ,Children, Physically and mentally challenged, sick ,illiterate, We promote environment regeneration,livelihood support, peace building, gender equality, education, health services, capacity building, community mobilization and local self governance.

 

Strategy

Awareness creation and sensitization of target village community on social economical, educational, health, environment and livelihood issues

Formation and strengthening of people’s organizations such as self help groups, farmer’s groups at the grass root level to enable the community to take decisions collectively.

Sensitizing the community of their rights and duties.

Promoting leadership qualities among the reference community and enhancing their capacities to participate in local self government.

Strengthening the economic base of the poor and marginalized sections of the society through livelihood support, local resource management and awareness creation on government welfare schemes.

Promoting core values of social justice, equality, brotherhood, harmony and peace building among people.
